Newly Single Girl’s To Do List

So, you’re newly single. You don’t feel great about it. What do you do to make yourself feel better? Here are a few things I’ve done:

  • Get rid of all his stuff out of your room/wardrobe/bathroom
  • Make your bedroom more your own – add candles, re-arrange things, generally make it YOUR space
  • Organise your shoes in your newly spacious wardrobe (by colour)
  • Write a list of everything you won’t miss about him
  • Go on a night out with a girlfriend (dressed up to the nines) to chat to randoms, flirt and generally realise that you are still attractive
  • Plan more similar nights out with girlfriends willing to come out (not) drinking with you
  • Write a list of all the things you are looking forward to doing (now that you are not with him)
  • Go through old clothes and realise that you fit into lots of stuff you had put away now that you have lost half a stone in 2 weeks from stress
  • Realise that now, 20 years later, you have a whole different “type” (from him)

  3. That made me chuckle! ‘Realise you have a different type’! I sometimes cannot believe that my ex and I were ever married!
