The last week or so I have many things on my mind – coming off my current medication and the prospect of starting a new medication. So my many apologies to the organisers of this wonderful event that we were so lucky to be invited to go to.
The event was in Guildford at the Beefeater Restaurant and it was to launch their new Mr Man Little Miss Menu for kids.
All of us went – myself, My husband Ben, our aupair Bella and the kids – Joshua (aged 6) and Alara (aged 4).
Upon arrival there were two big Mr Man / Little Miss figures (Mr Tickle & Little Miss Sunshine). We had our photos taken with them. As with our experience at the Oracle Reading to meet and greet Mike the Knight, the children were a bit nervous of these larger than life characters. But we got our photo opportunity and then went on to see what other treats were in store for us.
There was an area with lots of bean bags with a whole pile of Mr Man and Little Miss books for the kids to read.
There was also facepainting. While Josh wasn’t that interested, Lala was well up for being Mr Tickle!
Then we were amazingly honoured to attend an exclusive drawing workshop with Adam Hargreaves – writer and illustrator of the Mr Man books – son of Roger Hargreaves the original writer and creator of the Mr Man / Little Miss Series.
Here are some photos of him drawing the pictures, as a nice lady from the PR company was reading one of the books.
Joshua drew Mr Cheerful – I think it is brilliant! Well, I would, wouldn’t I. But still. It is!
Adam Hargreaves thought so too!
Then dinner was served:
Lala had Mr Small’s Little Cod Bites:
Joshua had Mr Strong’s 4oz Flat Iron Steak:
I had the 6oz Flat Iron Steak with mushroom and chips.
It really was yummy!
Bella had cod and chips! Which was lovely. But huge!!!
Then there was an ice-cream competition. Although I have to say, don’t expect my kids to hang around with ice cream in front of them waiting for the judge (Adam Hargreaves again) to come round and judge everyone’s ice-cream creations!!!!
Finally, I got the chance to meet Adam Hargreaves when I snuck outside to have a sneaky cigarette while the kids were stuffing their faces with ice-cream!! Guess what? He’s a smoker too!
Overall it was a lovely day. I feel so lucky to have been invited!
