Busy week

Its been a very busy week.

My colleague (who I like very much and am going to miss) is leaving at the end of next week and so she’s been handing over some of her work to me and its gone (not completely due to that fact) from very dead, quiet and soul destroying, to madly busy – I was in 3 hours worth of meetings on Tuesday which made me behind on my trackers so that job has crept into today’s work too plus a few burning issues and team meetings and I’ve actually started to feel like I could begin to enjoy this job. I also met with the head of one of the departments that I support this morning to discuss ideas of how I could support them. It was a very promising and productive meeting and I really like this guy. He is a very down to earth and approachable boss.

I also got called up about a job closer to home this week – permanent and near-by but it would have been a bit of a pay cut and while they have good benefits it wouldn’t really be worth the pay-cut and while I’m still studying for my Prince2 qualification, it makes sense to just stay put. Plus finding the time off for an interview – they wanted to see me on Friday – was looking very tricky. So today when they rang to confirm the interview I told them that I’d reconsidered and had decided to stay put for a while.

I’ve been so busy at work that I haven’t had the time to think about other personal things which, granted if I had a busy job the rest of the time I wouldn’t think about it. But now I feel like I have so much to do I don’t know where to start. So I’ve started trying to prioritize my evenings. Tuesday nights, after Weight watchers, I study – I did an hour last night. Wednesday nights is blogging night. Thursday nights, studying again. Friday has to be a night off. Then I’ll study for a couple of hours on a Saturday or Sunday. Then we’re back to Monday again. I reckon Monday should be “have a relaxing bath” night as Mondays are shit anyway.

So, now its nearly 9pm. I’ve had dinner and watched a bit of TV (Law & Order UK) and am thinking of going up to bed to do bloggy things from there and check out the pBloggers forum a bit. So I need to write a list. I need to:

Mum in a Hurry

  • Write a review that has been needing to be done for a week or so
  • Finish this blog post
  • Try to figure out how much to charge to advertise in my sidebar

  • Look at drafted post and schedule some posts to go out rest of the week
  • Schedule some tweets to go out
  • Decide on next week’s topic
  • Spend some time on the forum

Gonna post this or it will be another thing I leave until tomorrow!!!
