Mental Health Monday – Needed a boost #mhmonday

I am feeling a little bit weepy and tired. And as you can tell from my last post, I have been feeling a little bit overwhelmed. Watching TV just wasn’t doing it for me. My brain wasn’t in the right place to study (it will have to be tomorrow night after Weight watchers) and I couldn’t focus on blogging tasks. So I went up to my room. I put a Woman’s Hour podcast on through my speakers and set about changing the sheets. They were BEYOND yucky. I daren’t tell you when we last changed them! So I got rid of them. Taking each task one by one – one pillow case, then another, etc… Putting the dirty stuff in the washing basket, then putting the clean stuff on, realising that I’d perhaps picked a duvet cover that was a bit too small for our duvet – I can never remember which one is which and as our sheets cupboard is completely unorganised (there isn’t really enough room in there for it to be organised so I’ve never even bothered trying).

After I’d done that I decided to pamper myself a bit. My husband bought me a new dressing table chair this weekend (as he broke my old one – which was just a cheap ikea chair anyway), but I love the new one. Very posh (please excuse the dirty carpet – never having cream carpets again!!!):

I had to tidy my dressing table up first so I got everything that didn’t belong there and put it in a pink plastic basket thing (that’s tidying, right? I think my hubby would disagree saying that that is just moving mess from one place to another but it made me feel better so that’s the main thing!). Once tidy, I got out a few things. First of all, I cleansed and toned (these are not new purchases – just stuff that has been neglected in drawers for ages):

Then I used some of this Estee Lauder night repair stuff, some eye cream from Nivea (think this was a xmas pressie from hubby), and some L’Oreal wrinkle cream that I bought for myself a few months ago.

A bit of hand cream:

And finally, some Palmers Cocoa Butter Formula. I LOVE the smell of this. Sadly, so does my husband, but I’m on a period so I have a decent excuse tonight!

And clean sheets. I’m not sure there is anything better in this world than clean sheets!

    • That’s okay. I really felt for you. Yes, of course you can join in. I thought it up ages ago but I’m not very good at keeping to a schedule. Go for it. x

    • I misread your comment as “may I join in” lol, not “may just join in”. But yes, please do. Look forward to reading whatever you link it to. Can be new or old post. I don’t mind. But if you wouldn’t mind putting the code in so my picture and link to linkie page will go into your post, that would be lovely xxx

  2. Pleased you managed to pamper yourself! I think I’m going to join in on this one. Can I post later on in the week? X

  3. I think taking the time to put creams etc on is very relaxing. It was a bit of time just for you.

Please comment so I know I'm not alone out here!
