About Me

About me

My name is Abi Shepherd. I am a single mum of two lovely children. I separated from my ex-husband in December 2014 and we are now divorced. We had been together a long time and while it was a difficult experience to go through, I have now found a new lease of life and am taking directions I would never have dreamed possible when I was with my ex-husband. I recently left office work to work as a care assistant in homes for the elderly and those with learning difficulties. I am also studying journalism as writing has always been my passion and I would like to follow my dream of becoming a writer.

Why do I write my blog?

This blog actually started as a Twitter Account but I found that I just couldn’t fit what I wanted to say into 140 characters. I write this blog because I enjoy writing and I sometimes feel the need to get things off my chest. I find it therapeutic. I write about my life as a mum, about my children, my mental health issues, about the separation and divorce. I write about whatever is on my mind really. I also do the odd review and am open to contacts from PR companies (little plug there).

Thank you for checking out my blog and I hope you like what you find.

Hi Abi, I read your last post and I have hope you’ll get through these trials. I used to do a lot of writing on a blog I will now close because it revolved around someone I used to love. Because life is much different now, I decided to start writing again.
I was searching the bots to see if anyone has a blog with the url-workingmum and yours came up in the search so I decided to read more.
What kind of job do you do?

  6. I like your new look page, I can see how you’ve used some of the style tips seen at Britmums live too. You have a lovely blog, it’s emotive and beautifully written. xx

Great to have met you over the blogosphere. I agree with you very much that writing is incredibly therapeutic. It’s one of the main reasons I decided to start mine. It feels great to empty the brain of the days stresses. Keep writing – it’s good for us! xx
