Mindful Monsters from the disability charity @Scope

I was recently contacted by Scope who asked me to review their recently developed Mindful Monsters, a set of activity cards, which gives parents a new and exciting way to help their little ones develop important life skills through exploring mindfulness, while spending quality time together. The cards are quick and easy activities parents and children can do anywhere.

Research shows mindfulness in families has many benefits:

  • More resilience in day-to-day life
  • Improved focus
  • Better understanding of their emotions
  • A sense of calm
  • More positive thinking – promoting kindness and gratitude

Scope currently support around 250,000 disabled people and their families every year; by 2022 their goal is to increase this figure to 2 million. They don’t want any parent to feel alone or scared when they have just learnt that their child is disabled.

You can see more about Mindful Monsters on YouTube.

Here is what I got in my pack:

Alara was fascinated by them – especially the stickers.

We loved this one:

Here is her silly monster-face:

And this is where she decided to put her sticker which she got for participating:

I thinkMindful Monsters is a great idea and can definitely recommend them as something fun to do with them – to promote mindfulness and just a nice activity to do with your children.

You can find more information about Scope at their website and also on Twitter.

Please comment so I know I'm not alone out here!
