I’ve been off work the last couple of days. In fact, I’ve hardly been at work this week at all. I was off earlier in the week because Lala wasn’t very well and then I went into work on Wednesday but had to go home again because I was unwell. What was a cold has turned into a horrid flu thing which has had me in bed for two and a half days. My glands in my neck are swollen, it hurts when I swallow, I have a headache, I’ve been really hot and then had the shivers, had the sweats, I’ve had lower back pain which my husband tells me is my kidneys hurting. I’ve mostly been in bed, although I got up for an hour today so hubby could go to the post office and was expecting a delivery so he needed me to stay awake. I watched a bit of TV and then went back to bed when he got home. I haven’t really slept though when I was in bed. I dozed but I kept getting the sweats so would push the covers off myself and then feel cold so I’d put them back over myself. And so on and so forth. Last night I kept waking up. It was pretty much every hour on the hour. I remember looking at my phone and it saying 11pm (when hubby came to bed) then midnight, I got up for a wee, then it was 1am, 2am, 3am, etc. My throat was the worst last night. I think that was what kept waking me up. Its still pretty painful to swallow but I think its a fraction better. I have a headache but I think that might be dehydration. I took some painkillers a while ago and I think that has made me feel a bit better. I’m hoping this is the worst over and I’ll be better by Monday. On the plus side, I have barely eaten anything the last couple of days. I had half a tin of tomato soup for lunch and the other half for dinner. Plus a couple of chocolate chip cookies.
In other news, my son Joshua has started talking back and being naughty. Its exhausting. He gets out of bed 3 or 4 times at bedtime, doesn’t do things when he’s told to do them and makes a fuss, screaming and whinging. I’m fed up of it. If anyone has any advise on how to encourage good behaviour, please let me know.
